Okay, so here's a couple of things. First off is a pic from back in November, that I never posted here for some reason. It's Deunan and Briareos from Appleseed.

Next is a pic of Sailor Moon. My girlfriend is a big fan, and so I did this for her for Christmas.

Aaaaaaand here's a piece I'm working on. Dunno if I'll finish it, it's kinda getting on my nerves. Phoenix and the X-Men. Already scrapped that Wolverine in the pic and trying to make him and Colossus fit into perspective a little more and it's a big fucking pain. Hopefully I'll finish it.

Jeeeeeez. I haven't been on here in a while. Well, here's the deal, I haven't drawn much since November. Got SUPER busy at work during Christmas and it left me with no time to really work on art. And it's kinda taken the better half of January for me to regain my motivation. So here's some stuff that I did today. The first is just some ink practice on a Cyclops sketch. I'm pretty proud of my inking on it to be honest. The second is a marker and pen drawing of my girlfriend and I in the style of Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim comics.

These are the first three pages to a short story I started working on with a writer a while back. We both kinda got distracted and it went nowhere. I just found the pages and we're talking about picking it back up. I'll probably scrap page three though. Page one and two could use some modifications, but are still pretty good I think. Also, I did an Aquaman piece today. It's at the bottom. Enjoy.

It's been exactly a year since I started drawing again. I didn't really draw for about 4 or 5 years, except for an occasional sketch here and there. I've improved and learned a shit ton in the last year but I've still got a ways to go. Anyway. Here's some quick sketches I did in the last couple of days.

I keep disappearing on this thing. I've been working more and more and Dragoncon recovery slowed me down but I'm trying to draw as much as possible. I've got some stuff around here that I could scan but it's a super secret project I'm working on for a friend. In the meantime, here is something else I'm working on. It's an Aquaman piece for my friend Jared. I'm still working on the inks, I don't like the way they look on the bottom half so I'm redoing those.

The last couple of weeks have been retarded. Here's a few sketches I've done in the last few days just to show I've been doing something. They're pretty shitty but oh well. The Dr Strange is in progress. The Ms Marvel turned out looking fat and I gave up. Maybe I'll fix it and finish. The others are just random sketches I did on receipts at work.

Haven't done much these last few days. A few sketches but haven't scanned anything. This is the final version of my collaboration with Spidey and Archerion. There's a couple of rough spots on each of our parts, but I really like it. I really dig where they went with Cygil's arms. The inks and the dirtiness in the colors really add a whole new element to it. I don't understand why Killswitch is pointing a laser into the sky though. I also don't dig the change of her hair from blonde/red to blonde/orange. I'd personally rather just have it all be blonde. But I don't mean to nitpick the other guys' contributions, they all did great.

Guy on the left designed by Spidey, big robot dude designed by Archerion, and the chick on the right designed by me. My pencils. Spidey is doing inks and Arch is doing colors.

Inking practice.

I finally got some printer ink, so instead of trying to ink my original artwork and ruining it, I opted to print out these two pieces and practice on them. I got some better pens than the ones I had and that helped out a lot, I think. Also, the fact that I wasn't so worried about ruining original artwork kind of relaxed me a bit and I think it made it come out much better. Definitely still rough in some areas, some of the lines on WW are a little shaky, and the hatching on Ms Marvel could have come out better, but overall I'm pretty pleased with it. Pencils on Ms Marvel originally by Frank Cho, and pencils on Wonder Woman originally by Adam Hughes.

Was bored at work yesterday, did these. They were really quick pen sketches and I didn't worry about a lot of details but they were fun.

Today I decided to practice doing some ink and color. The first sketch is of Ultron, as requested by Keeves. No pencil was used at all, which means that no base figure was done beforehand, and I just freehanded the whole thing in ink. It was also done in like 10-15 minutes so it kinda sucks even more. The second is another Boba Fett. It was done with a really rough pencil sketch beforehand, then I knocked out all the details in ink before attempting color with prismacolor markers. It went decently well until I decided to do the background, if you want to call a bunch of black and orange scribbles a background anyway. Oh well, I like it otherwise and besides, can't get better without practicing.

Here's the finished product. I'm pretty pleased with it. I was going to ink it but I didn't want to mess it up since it's a b-day present. I'll probably lightbox the sketch of Ramona onto another sheet and use it for inking practice, cause I really like the way she came out and figure it would be fun to try inking. Today's sketches are initial sketches for bigger things I'm working on. The duck is an original character that I created. I'm currently working on pencilling a short story about him and his partner. It's written by Scott R Schmidt (you just got namedropped!) and it's coming together pretty nicely. This is the initial sketch for one of the panels he's in.

The next piece is also part of a bigger thing I'm working on. It's my rendition of one of my favorite scenes from Bryan Lee O'Malley's Scott Pilgrim series. It's a piece I'm doing for my sister's birthday, since she really likes the series too and it happens to also be one of her favorite scenes. I'll post the finished product here later tonight or tomorrow hopefully.

So I didn't post yesterday, but not because I didn't do any art. I started on this before work yesterday and finished it up around 4:30 today. It was quite an undertaking. It's 11x17 and it's for a drawoff on penciljack.com. I'm pretty pleased with it. Hope you guys like it.
